1. PREVENT FURTHER SKIN DAMAGE
If hot tar comes into contact with your skin, or if you feel like it's burning your skin, run some cold water on the affected area to cool it down. This prevents further damage and causes immediate pain relief. You may also want to take some analgesia like aspirin to help control the pain. Then once the pain has eased off, move to step two.2.
